The main economic activity of Biopal is the rearing of organic chickens. 2.1.12 History of the organization: Biopal consists of a Cooperative and an NGO . Founded in 2003 by Tingala Couma, the former school director of Kayes. Given the schools were privatised, he didn't have a job and wanted to bring about change. All meetings with public officials brought little or nothing. We got to know him in 2009, and after the coup d'etat in 2013 we signed a cooperation agreement with him. Then we started the construction of our chicken farm. The Ngo ALD (Association du Logo pour le developpement ) provides training, education and consultation with ecclesiastical and secular authorities. The cooperative Biopal is the executive and commercial body with a 200 Ha farm, chicken breeding and feed production. |
